OCTOBER 7 is a powerful 100% verbatim play drawn directly from survivor testimonies of Israel’s darkest day is to be staged at the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC.

The play, which the New York Post has described as “spellbinding… powerful and a sanctuary for truth.” It has received critical acclaim and prompted calls for more performances across the country.

The performance will be a dramatized staged reading.

This play is the story of Israel’s darkest day, but it is also a story of survival, hope, resilience, and fighting back against the forces of darkness.

In an era when historical events are often distorted or forgotten, this production stands as a beacon of authenticity.”

By staging this play in Washington, DC, it reaffirms the venue’s mission as the nation’s beacon for the performing arts, engaging artists and audiences and presenting, producing, and curating world-class art: offering powerful education to people of all ages, everywhere,” emphasized the playwright Phelim McAleer. 

The play will be performed in the Kennedy Center’s iconic Terrace Theater on January 28th at 7:30pm. 

This performance is an external rental presented in coordination with the Kennedy Center Campus Rentals Office and is not produced by the Kennedy Center.
